ABSTRACTION AND COLOUR IN AN ALTERNATIVE VISUAL COMMUNICATION FOR NAIROBI SERENA HOTEL

ABSTRACT
This study seeks to investigate how abstraction and colour can be used to enhance the recognition of visual communication at the Serena Hotel. The general objective of the study is to investigate how visual communication has been used at the Nairobi Serena hotel and to propose new forms of visual communication using abstraction and colour. To achieve the main objective, a content analysis of major documents at the hotel will be contacted. Interviews from key staff in all the departments of Serena Hotel will be carried out to get an in-depth view of the visual communication understanding by staff. The study will utilize a case study research design as it focuses on a single entity, Serena Hotel. In particular study will be based on the theories concerning abstraction, colour and visual communication. Based on the research findings the study will make conclusions that will be used to come up with recommendations.
The study will use the findings, theories and primary data to make recommendations that point towards achieving study objectives as well as be a benefit to various stakeholders in the hotel industry, environment and market in general. To conclude, a recommendation will also be made concerning any need for further studies.
