USE OF RECYCLED TIMBER IN RESTAURANTS

ABSTRACT
The world has come to a point where everyone is watching what they eat,
where they step, what they say ect. This is a prove of how sensitive our
environment has turned to be. Application of design in all ways interact
with the environment hence making it (design) a very important aspect of
living. Design has been practiced for centuries thus growing with time,
and like wine, getting better. This paper has its focus on interior design
world.
The researcher through this paper seek to bring to light the sensitivity of
the environment in response to our own actions toward the said
environment, and to what extent the issue of sustainability can be taken.
This shall be done through studies of previous literatures and interactions
with players in the sector who have amassed knowledge with time. Such
people, for example, will be owners of large enterprises with the main
aim of getting a clear picture of what they are doing to promote
sustainable living. Also it seeks to practice and suggest ways to promote
sustainability through a case study; Buffet Park Hurlinghum.
This research work is divided into 5 parts namely, introduction, literature
review, research design and methodology, site analysis and
recommendations. These sections are extensively covered to bring about
the issue of sustainability in design.
