APPLICATION OF ZEBRA MOTIFS IN DESIGN OF APPEALING PRODUCTS USING ECOEFICIENT PROCESSES FOR GREAT GREVY‟S BALL

The main theme running through the course of this project is application of Grevy‟s zebras design on products to increase the awareness of the endangered species at Great Grevy‟s Ball. This study intends to investigate and seek to understand how using Grevy‟s zebras as inspiration for products can spread awareness. There is a deep connection between man and wildlife, this paper attempts to show the connection in terms of design aspects.
The basis of this research will give insight and better knowledge of how to create awareness through products. The researcher will employ different approaches and techniques applicable combined with necessary tools to understand the subject in depth. Literature review elaborates on how designers are evolving and being mindful of the materials and processes they use to make products. However, there is little research done on Grevy‟s zebras in the industrial design field.
The data will be gathered from collecting data at Sportman‟s Arms Hotel and analyzed thoroughly before establishing the best possible solutions to increasing awareness through products and the impact to the social and environmental paradigms. In conclusion, this research not only shows how products inspired by Grevy‟s zebras can be Kenya‟s trademark to outside world will increase their awareness but also focuses on mindful selection of products in terms of eco-efficiency.
