The department of Art and Design ( D.A.D)  - Faculty of Built Environment and Design (FBD) held a consultative meeting bringing together stakeholders to discuss and provide insights towards the Masters and Doctorate of Design Degree curriculum.

Curriculum development is a continuous process incorporating different approaches to create an exciting and effective teaching experience thereby making it a responsibility of many stakeholders with a multidisciplinary approach.

The blend of thoughts, submissions and review of the design content from participants drawn from across both private and government sectors will provide a lead to the ongoing curriculum evaluation process while creating an elaborate baseline that is beneficial to the learners and Design education.

In his opening remarks, the Executive Dean FBD Prof. Rukwaro appreciated the significance of the process noting that the Commission for University Education (CUE) had in 2014 set guideline for particular studies at the two levels of study under review. According to CUE, Students at the Masters level are required to identify a societal problem in an area of study and indicate how to resolve it  with available data while the Doctorate studies aim to train researchers and future university faculty staff.

The event was held on Thursday 12th August at the Architecture seminar room and was attended by D.A.D chair Dr. Lilac Osanjo, other faculty members and invited Design industry players.
