DIAR AWARD

Dr. Michael Munene won and was awarded the National Diversity and Inclusion Awards & Recognition (DIAR Awards), in the award category:DIAR Award for PWD Inclusion Champions on Friday March 3, 2023 at The Sarit Expo Center, Nairobi. The running theme for this edition is Belong You Belong, We Belong.

This award category celebrates an individual initiating and leading actions to remove barriers to opportunities for persons with disabilities (PWD), demonstrating excellence in the delivery of services to them, or running empowerment programs that are geared towards encouraging and motivating PWDs to realize their full potential.

DIAR Awards has continued to highlight leading initiatives that anchor sustainable development, build resilient communities, and uncover potential opportunities that can ignite positive growth for individuals and organizations to lead large-scale transformation. It has contributed to the realization of an equitable world,where no one is left behind; where everyone, in all stages of their lives, is engaged productively, empowered, and able to exercise and enjoy their rights; contributing to shared prosperity, inclusion, belongingness, peace, stability, inclusive workplaces, and socially cohesive societies.

The awards have also been a catalyst for the improvement of services, setting of standards, sustenance of positive change, multiplication of change agents, and a platform for networking and partnerships.
