Department of Art and Design Holds First-Year Departmental Address
The Department of Art and Design held its First-Year Departmental Address on 11th September 2026, welcoming newly admitted students to the department and officially introducing them to the academic and administrative environment.
The address was attended by the Chair of the Department, Dr. Mwiti, alongside lecturers, administrative staff, and technical staff from the department.
In her remarks, Dr. Mwiti and the departmental team encouraged the first-year students to take their studies seriously and make the most of their time at the university. The students were reminded that their admission into the programme represents a golden opportunity to advance their education, develop their talents and skills, and prepare for a successful future.
The departmental staff also emphasized the importance of discipline, commitment, creativity, and active participation in academic activities throughout their studies.
The DSA student leaders who were present also took the opportunity to warmly welcome the first-year students to the Department of Art and Design. They encouraged the newcomers to embrace university life, build positive relationships, and make use of the support and opportunities available to them.
The departmental address marked an important beginning for the new students as they embark on their academic journey in Art and Design.
