Jewelry making by Hannelies Casteleijn

Hannelies Casteleijn, Dutch jewelry maker visited the Jewelry students at the Department of Art and Design today. She presented her whimsical jewelry collection to the students and had a one on one chance to exchange ideas, design inspirations, exchange of skills and the use of various materials in jewelry making. Insights were given on the market opportunities, challenges and gains of the different global contexts for the designers.

In turn Hannelies also got the chance to view and participate in a review of jewelry design pieces that the students have been working on in the last semester.

The visits aim was to see the exchange of ideas and for each one to get inspired from each other, despite the vast cultural diversity of Africa and Netherlands.
