Dr. OSANJO BECOMES THE FISRT AWARDEE OF THE INAUGURAL PADI SIMBA CLUB

The Pan African Design Institute -Simba Club, also known as the PADI Fellowship, is a fellow award that serves as council of Design Elders with an aim of  recognising exemplary awardees for their outstanding contribution to the development of design practice, design education and design advocacy in their individual countries and/or across the African continent. 

Dr. Lilac Osanjo, Director StAD becomes the first awardee of the Pan African Design Institute -Simba Club.

This is in recognition and honour for her outstanding work in the thematic areas of design-practice, education and advocacy amongst other 6 nominees for the award at the inaugural virtual event held on 29th April 2021.

The Simba Club, also known as the PADI Fellowship, is a fellow award that serves as council of Design Elders with an aim of  recognising exemplary awardees for their outstanding contribution towards the development of design practice, design education and design advocacy in their individual countries and/or across the African continent. 

The award was bestowed by the patron of PADI, Her excellency former First Lady of South Africa Gugu Motlanthe.

The other nominees for the award were;

Prof Des Laubscher of South Africa

Prof Richie Moalosi of Botswana

Prof Mugendi M'Rithaa of Kenya

Mr Ato deGraft-Johnson of Ghana and 

Mr Saki Mafundikwa of Zimbabwe.

The Council of Design Elders will serve as role models for the younger generation designers looking up for inspiration.
