FUNDING FOR AGENDA 2030 IN AFRICAN CITIES

Dr. Amollo Ambole of the School of Arts and Design among lead researchers for the 8 projects funded by International Science Council to support collaborative research for Agenda 2030 in African Cities

Dr. Amollo Ambole of the School of Arts and Design is a lead researcher for one of the 8 projects funded by the International Science Council through the Leading Integrated Research for Agenda 2030 in Africa (LIRA2030) programme.


Dr Ambole will lead a team of researchers from Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, and Ghana cities to conduct comprehensive study and analysis on Informing energy futures through lessons from science-policy-society interactions.


The project team is among other eight collaborative projects that have been awarded up to 20,000 euros by (LIRA2030) in order to foster research collaboration and learning across LIRA projects and to support interdisciplinary writing teams.

This funding aims to supports teams that bring together representatives from two or more projects that have not previously worked together in LIRA funded projects in order to help scale up their societal, environmental and intellectual benefits, and to advance scientific understanding of urban sustainable development in African cities.

The projects will result in joint academic articles for the International Science Council.
