CREATIVE INTERMEDIARIES FORUM

A Creative intermediaries forum was hosted by the School of Arts and Design on 12th September 2019..

The one day workshop was a consortium of profit and non profit organizations facilitating

a range of opportunities for creative individuals and institutions.  The creatives forum brought together pariticipants

working towards supporting the development of the creative cultural industry (CCIs) in Nairobi and Kenya.

Viable opportunities for the creatives through the CCIs would include training and skills, creation of space, business planning

SUSTAINABILITY DESIGN CHALLENGE

The competition is a co-operation between Kenya Airways and design institution offering training in

clothing construction, fashion, textile and interior design courses and dedicated to the development and application of creative ideas. 

The challenge is engaging four teams of five members nominated fashion,

design and marketing students to redesign (develop innovative products) from materials ranging from

work jackets, work trousers for both men and ladies, old blankets, old cabin crew uniforms

A team of staff from the Ministry of Public Works paid a courtesy call to the Director  StAD  on 4th September. 

The team consisting of the School alumni sort to check on its progress while opening up avenues

for more engagement such as securing students internship and attachment opportunities.

The School prides in continually producing notable Interior, Product , Graphic, Illustrator and Fashion Designers spreadout in various Government institutions, Corporate Organizations and some venturing in private practise.
